Allison Sweatman, LMSW
Therapist
Allison first joined Pediatrics Plus as an intern and special education advocate, helping parents navigate their child’s transition to kindergarten. Through this connection, Allison learned about the counseling services offered at Rise and joined our team in the spring of 2022.
Allison received her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Ouachita Baptist University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Tulane University. Allison decided to pursue social work after adopting her son in 2018. During her experiences with the foster care and adoption system, Allison saw the great need for special education and adoption reform.
Allison has a strong connection to families like hers, who have children with intellectual disabilities and other types of neurodiversity. "My mission in life is to help families thrive, even with all the systemic barriers they face. I feel that the most rewarding part of my job is to create a safe space for kids who might not have access to that anywhere else. When I am able to provide that safe space, there is an opportunity to help them find the safety within themselves and carry it with them into the world."
Allison serves clients in Little Rock.
