Patty Nelson, LPE-I
Psych Examiner
Before joining Rise, Patty worked for our sister company, Pediatrics Plus as a Psychological Examiner and Preschool Director since 2005. She became a part of the Learning and Diagnostics team in 2014. During that time, Patty worked hand in hand with the development team in the creation of the center. Patty’s many years of experience and expertise played a vital role into the integration of psychological testing into the current services offered at Rise. In 2018, Patty was named our clinical director.
Patty believes in leaving no stone unturned during the assessment process and that knowledge is power. To get a clear picture of why a child is struggling, the evaluation must look at all aspects of how a child learns and processes information. Patty enjoys diagnostics and helping families. She hopes that after an evaluation, parents know what we did, why we did it, what diagnosis was made, and leave equipped with as much information as they can so they can then be the best advocate for their child.
Patty earned her undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans and Masters of School Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas. Patty has worked in various mental health settings and provided an array of services, including outpatient behavioral health counselor, psychological examiner, Director of Therapeutic Foster Care Program and Neuro Psych Tech.
In her free time, Patty loves spending time with her husband of 28 years, children and grandchildren.
